From the Machine

Holy pistons! Only a single week left until we begin chapter 5 of Mysteries of the Arcana! I'm pretty excited!

Today we're spotlighting From the Machine. Honestly, I don't have anything to say about this amazing comic that the gorgeously atmospheric art above won't do a better job of.

I'm feeling pretty quiet today so I'll just say...

See you tomorrow!

Zukahnaut

So, what happens when you mix gods, aliens, and pro wrestling? Something like Zukahnaut! Give it a look!

You might notice there's a brand new banner above this here blog entry. That leads to the Wall of the Arcane - our spot for thanking each person who backed the chapter 5 Kickstarter. Check it out! You might find a few familiar names there.

Lastly, are you a gamer? Do you love old school monster manuals? MotA artist Gennifer Bone is illustrating a gorgeous looking monster manual called Lusus Naturae. They're holding a Kickstarter. They've already reached goal with 24 days left to go so now is a great time to hop on board!

See you tomorrow!

Tales of Hammerfist

We're only five days away from the debut of chapter 5! I have the first page saved on my hard drive and I love it. It is all about Theresa, Chrys and has some great interaction. Plus, it features our first cameo and two hidden names!

Today we're spotlighting Tales of Hammerfist. This fantasy adventure webcomic isn't afraid of blood, gore, or mad science so check it out!

See you tomorrow!

Samhain Night

This is it! Come our next regular update day (that would be Monday the 24th) we'll be starting chapter 5! I am really looking forward to it.

In the meanwhile, I wonder, how have you enjoyed the webcomic trailers? I'm pondering adding this as a regular addition to the Mysteries of the Arcana site. Perhaps something akin to webcomic Wednesdays? Where each Wednesday I give a shout out to another webcomic. What do you think? Is that something that would interest you guys? It would not interrupt regular content, of course.

Today's comic, by the way, is Samhain Night. Not only is the creator an amazing lady but this is one of the best takes of classic Celtic mythology and modern fantasy I've ever ready. I really recommend it.

See you tomorrow!

BrickBunny Designs

Why, yes! That are custom designed LEGO minifigures of Chrystalline, Theresa, and William up there. They were created by Wendy Heather Wood of BrickBunny Designs. Wendy is not only a fun comic creator but a professional custom minifig designer! Interested in having her do a minifigure for your comic characters? Or any characters? Give her a shout either via her site, tumblr or via her twitter feed!

Only a few more days and chapter 5 begins! The action starts Monday! I'm excited! Are you excited?

Of Stars and Swords

Hello? Is anyone out there? You guys have been awfully quiet lately. I think I understand, though. You're probably at the "yet another trailer and you wish the damn movie would start already" phase. I've been there myself! Hold on just a few more days and we'll be back to Mysteries of the Arcana, I promise!

In the meanwhile, you really should check out Of Stars and Swords. Gorgeous art. Beautiful writing. A strong, female lead. It really is worth reading.

See you tomorrow!

That's because there's too many webcomics to read! It's hard to keep up! Smile

That's because I've been gorging on all the archives from the webcomics you've been posting.   Its all your fault.

Gunsolo (Guest) (2014-03-22)

That's because I went back into Lurker mode for a while.
Too many trailers, not enough time to read all the comics. Ive actually read through the entire archive of dream*scar (it's very good, I lost some sleep during that archive binge), about a hundred pages of Sombulus and three chapters of Monkey Island... err... I mean Lasalle's legacy. Smile
Webcomic wednesday sounds like a pretty good idea.

Those Lego figures in the last post were friggin awesome!

Looking forward to the start of chapter 5 on monday!

Oh, and the Wall of the arcane looks very nice. Smile

I am an evil, evil person. Yes. Smile

Vanguard

And here we go! The final day of our hiatus and of webcomic trailers. Tomorrow, there'll be a brand new page of Mysteries of the Arcana. The first page of chapter 5!

In the meanwhile, may I recommend checking out Vanguard? Superhero webcomics aren't as common as you might think and ones with a UK point of view are even rarer.

In case you missed any, here's a list of the 16 webcomics and 1 non-webcomic we spotlighted during our break:

Decrypting Rita: What happens when a speedster is scattered across multiple realities. At once!

Out of my Element: Steampunk meets elemental fantasy.

The Sundown Boys: A modern day tale of relationships and strangeness.

Dream*Scar: An urban fantasy. What happens when the world finds out the supernatural exists?

Chirault: Demon hunters and teeny tiny women!

LaSalle's Legacy: Pirates and zombies!

Missing Monday: Fantasy and lesbian romance.

Sombulus: Angels! Demons! Interdimensional travel! Vehicles that run on nonsense!

Kyria: Traditional fantasy in a not quite traditional universe.

Demon Archives: Post-apocolyptic robotic goodness.

From the Machine: Just look at that gorgeous art. How could you not read it?

Zukahnaut: Drunk aliens, strange vikings, and a whole bunch of violence.

Tales of Hammerfist: A rather gory fantasy adventure.

Samhain Night: A fantasy webcomic based on Celtic mythology.

Brickbunny Designs: Not a webcomic but a site where you can get custom LEGO minifigs made!

Of Stars and Swords: Female led fantasy!

And Vanguard: Superheroes from the UK!

Which webcomics did you add to your reading list? Share with us!

See you tomorrow for Chapter 5!

Decrypting rita, Dream*Scar, LaSalle's Legacy, Sombulus and Vanguard have been added to my reading list. I haven't looked at all the others yet though, so it may still get longer.
