The End!

And so, after way too long, we come to the very end of chapter 4! An awww moment for Chrys and Theresa and a little bit of foreshadowing. Foreshadowing for what, you might ask? Find out in chapter 5!

Now, we're going to take a two week hiatus between chapter 4 and chapter 5. A little over two weeks, technically. The first page of chapter 5 will go live on 3/24.

But! That doesn't mean there's no reason to visit our site between now and then. Each day between now and the 24th we'll have WEBCOMIC TRAILERS! Basically, we're letting other webcomics use our space to present their webcomic to you in an entertaining format in an attempt to win your love and readership. So, come back each day and see what Webcomic Trailers has to offer.

Seriously. How cute are Chrys and Theresa here?

See you tomorrow!

Hmmm mysterious android and Stage 2...It's the machines again! Everybody! Get your waterguns!

Gunsolo (Guest) (2014-03-07)

Hmm, are the machines switching to Terminator mode?
Theresa's ability to see weaknesses ultimately results in their defeat, so they sent this robot back in time to... nah, probably not.

I like the design of that gynoid, it's very interesting. Also those headphones are funny. Smile

Looking forward to chapter 5!

Decrypting Rita

And welcome to the hiatus! As promised, each day we're going to let another webcomic borrow our space in an effort to convince our readers become their readers. First up is a series with some amazing style. Seriously, the art is gorgeous and retro. It is called Decrypting Rita.

You might notice that for most of these webcomics, if not all of them, I'll be linking you to them via Comic Rocket. That's because I genuinely believe Comic Rocket is an amazing friend to webcomics and I want to support them as well.

Over the next two weeks I'll be making a few changes to the site. Nothing big and some of it may be experimental but don't be surprised if you come here and find things a little different.

See you tomorrow!

Oh, now that is a lovely little tale.
Completely mad, with the multiple realities and the teleportation and the cybord and wizards and glowy sword things. But the nice kind of completely mad.

J Gray (2014-03-07)

I love the art. It speaks to the very best of the art movements of the 70s. Minimalist and full of motion.

Out of My Element

Day two of webcomic trailers! Hello again! Today we're spotlighting Out of My Element, a webcomic that combines beautiful art, steampunk aesthetics, and elemental magic! I highly recommend you give it a read.

Speaking of reading something, fellow webcomic Drifter: Journals of a Hero was kind enough to spotlight Mysteries of the Arcana on their site. Give it a glance!

You may have noticed both the Kickstarter widget and the shoutbox to the right of the blog are gone. The shoutbox was somewhat outdated and hardly used and the Kickstarter widgit isn't really needed now that the campaign is over. Just one of those small changes I mentioned!

See you tomorrow!

Sundown Boys

Webcomic Trailer day three! Today we're promoting the Sundown Boys, a webcomic in the SpiderForest Collective (the same group Mysteries of the Arcana belongs to!). Be warned, this comic, while not pornographic, might not be safe for work in some locations. Sundown Boys also has an amazing sense of color. Never have such bright, beautiful colors told a story that felt so dark to me.

I'm happy to say Sarrah of Wilkinson Red Nebula Studios has completed "Fly Away Home", the bonus story for Mysteries of the Arcana's chapter 2 digital trade! This story tells the tale of how Mandrake came to live at the Inn. Interested in seeing a sneak preview? Check out the image below!

See you tomorrow!

bounces excitedly Young Mandrake SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!! Dance

Dream*Scar

EDIT: Somehow I managed not to upload the trailer for Dream*Scar last night. It is now up. Sorry about that everyone.

If you came here expecting our normal Monday update I do apologize. We finished chapter 4 up last week and we're taking a break before starting chapter 5. In the meanwhile we're providing something new to see every day! Each day of our break other webcomics will be using our space to convince MotA readers to become their readers! Today's spotlight comic is fellow SpiderForest member Dream*Scar! Interested in urban fantasy in a world where the supernatural has recently been outed to the world at large? Interested in amazing, anime influenced art? Check out Dream*Scar. You won't be sorry.

And, hey! While you're here, want a peek at the official Mysteries of the Arcana Moon tarot card? Here it is!

See you tomorrow!

All i see is a blank orange box.

J Gray (2014-03-10)

Fixed! I somehow forgot to upload the comic.

JD (Guest) (2014-03-10)

Alright, so....
Is it just me, or are the burnt edges on the bottom of the card in juuuuuust the right place for this DreamScar pic?

Planned?  Hmm....

Fairportfan (Guest) (2014-03-11)

Good on yer, mate!

Figured it must be a technical glitch, so i though i'd call it to your attention.

Chirault

Day five of webcomic trailers and today we're looking at Chirault! Look at that poster. It is like Darth Maul and Chrys have a love child who likes to hang out with very tiny women! How can you not go and give her a try? Be warned, though. Chirault has quite the archive to read through. Over seven hundred pages. Be prepared to be entertained for quite a while.

I'm in the middle of preparing the four tarot cards people will be receiving as rewards for the Kickstarter. It isn't quite as easy as I had hoped it would be because of an error in judgement I made. Word to the wise - if you intend to offer something printed as a reward for a Kickstarter make sure you work out the printing dimensions ahead of time.

LaSalle's Legacy

We're one day closer to the debut of chapter 5! Today we're spotlighting LaSalle's Legacy. This comic's got pirates. It has zombies. It has pirate zombies!

Yes. Pirate zombies.

Translation: why aren't you already reading it?

Keith's been showing me some character design sketches for the new folk who will be showing up in chapter 5. Want to see one? Here's Aleena. If you recognize her name that's because she's a regular reader of MotA. Her appearance as a bad guy in the chapter was her reward for generously supporting our Kickstarter.

See you tomorrow!

Aleena (Guest) (2014-03-12)

Woot! Smile

Gunsolo (Guest) (2014-03-12)

Wow, this really reminds me of Monkey Island. Though by the description it seems to be more drama than humour.

Missing Monday

We're one Thursday closer to the debut of chapter 5. Today, though, we're spotlighting Missing Monday. This is an LGBT friendly webcomic with beautiful, evocative art. I've added it to my Comic Rocket reading list and you should as well.

Just for fun, here's another sketch of a character who will be appearing in the next chapter of Mysteries of the Arcana. This is Kietra, another of our backers. She's the second villain cameo.

See you tomorrow!

Tzivya (Guest) (2014-03-13)

Been reading MM for ages, and it is very very good. I think that may even be where I learned about MotA! In short, if you are reading this, you should go read it now. Right now. No, stop reading me and go read those comics! I mean it! GO!

Sombulus

How do you know the webcomic we're promoting today is awesome? I backed it via Kickstarter. And if you can't take my willingness to give money to someone as a recommendation, what can you take?

Seriously, Sombulus is one of the few webcomics out there besides MotA with a multidimensional theme. What happens when a paladin, a sort of demon, and an inventor roam the dimensions using a vehicle that runs on nonsense? AWESOME! That's what happens. Give it a try!

Also, I'm playing Pokemon X. There's no real reason for me to tell you that except I'm enjoying it a great deal. My current line-up is Florges, Mawile and Vivillon. I have a feeling I'll be adding to that once I start being able to catch Ghost types.

Kyria

I have a special place in my heart for webcomics that follow the traditional "adventuring party fantasy" trope but still find a way to break the mold. Kyria is just such a comic. It satisfies the D&D itch but in ways that are unpredictable and fun. Give it a try!

I've finished designing the four tarot cards we'll be sending out as part of our Kickstarter rewards. These cards will also be for sale via our soon to debut store. The store should be up and running by the end of spring. Here's a taste of two of the cards:

See y'all tomorrow!

Otty (Guest) (2014-03-15)

I love Kyria! Great comic by a talented artist.

Demon Archives

Good, solid science fiction webcomics are relatively rare. It seems fantasy webcomics are more the norm. That means the few SF webcomics out there should be read and treasured. A good example is the Demon Archives, a post-apocalyptic tale that tells the story of a group trying to rebuild their desolate world. Give it a try!

Have I mentioned the Golden Dames Project? It is a webcomic I'll be presenting soon that takes the best examples of female characters from the golden age of comics (at least, those comics that have fallen into the public domain) and presents them to you with facts about the characters, creators, comics, and publishers behind them. I'm hoping to debut the Golden Dames Project very soon.

See you tomorrow!
