Video Ahoy!

I'm loving today's page - the result of the disagreement between the Minor and Major Arcana.. For some of you, the page may look familiar. That is because we based the image on Allegory of War as painted by Peter Paul Rubens

Just a reminder, we won't be updating with another story page until January 2nd. We'll have filler up on Christmas day and on the 30th of December. I promise the filler will be interesting and worth visiting for!

Now for the fun news! As I've said before, we're going to try to fund the next chapter of Mysteries of the Arcana, chapter 5, via Kickstarter. As you may know, every good Kickstarter campaign has a video and our's will be no exception. Today I'm proud to present a teaser of the video.

Isn't that amazing? Theresa is played by Cecilia Yus and Chrystalline is played by Nancy S. Our very own Keith W plays the narrator. All three did amazing work and there will be more of it in the full video when we unveil the Kickstarter next month.

In the spirit of the holidays, I've decided to run a little contest. Each of the quotes in the above video come from a page of Mysteries of the Arcana that's already been posted on this site, sometime in our last four years. The first four people to send me an email and tell me the titles of the pages where each quote came from will get a prototype Theresa Devil tarot card. This contest is open to international readers as well.

Email your contest entry to mysteriesofthearcana (at) gmail (dot) com.

Deadline for the contest is January 2, 2014.

In the meanwhile, tell me! What did you think of today's page?

Well, that escalated quickly. Smile

I think this page works very well. The full color background and change in style, compared to the previous pages, emphasizes the shock associated with war and perhaps the realization that these are personifications of different universes fighting. (or perhaps Im just reading too much into this)

If I recall correctly the deaths of the Newcomers are intricately connected to the strange powers that some of the main characters have, Im looking forward to a more detailed explanation of that in the coming pages.

Happy Holidays!

Sure looks like Theresa, Chrys & William are having fun! Theresa's even got her own ugly Christmas sweater. Of course, Chrys wouldn't be caught dead in anything less than fashionable and William apparently has his own idea of holiday clothing.

Keith and I want to wish every reader of Mysteries of the Arcana, if not a Merry Christmas, than a wonderful day filled with joy and love. Thank you for sticking with us. Thank you for coming back after our hiatus. Thank you SO MUCH for believing in Mysteries of the Arcana.

Just a reminder, we're running a contest! The first four people to send me an email telling us the title of the page each quote said by Theresa and Chrys in our Kickstarter teaser trailer comes from will receive a prototype Theresa Devil tarot card. The contest is open to international readers.

In case you didn't see it, the video is here.

And the email address you send your entry to is mysteriesofthearcana (at) gmail (dot) com.

I've only received one entry so far so there's three cards left to give out!

See you next Monday!

Gunsolo, Adamas! Merry Christmas to you as well!

And thanks, Adamas! Thank you for coming back to read the comic.

Merry Christmas!

Adamas (Guest) (2013-12-25)

Merry Christmas, and a (belated) welcome back guys!

I can see William thinking "This "Stocking", it is to keep one's muzzle warm, yes?"

Silver City!

Since we're closing out 2013, this seems as good a time as any to announce Silver City! Silver City, written by myself and Keith Wood and illustrated by Keith will be a twelve issue, print superhero comic exploring the setting of Silver City and the lives of a small group of heroes who find themselves with extraordinary powers (and the just as extraordinary consequences that come from those powers) in the Greek mythology obsessed Silver City.

The comic probably won't see print until the middle of 2014. As we move forward we'll keep MotA readers up to date on Silver City's progress. Hopefully when the comic is printed we'll see a few orders from our faithful Mystery of the Arcana readers!

I've have exactly one card left to give out! I'd really like to mail all four. The deadline is 1/2/2014.

That's it. Thursday we'll be back with the next page of Mysteries of the Arcana. Happy New Year everyone!

That cover looks pretty awesome. You can sign me up for a first run edition for sure.
I'm not gonna try to identify sayings and titles, cuz I'm terrible at that. My memory for trivia (and just about everything else) is about as long as my... well, we won't mention that. Anyway
What was I talking about? Oh yeah, sign me up.
