Mysteries of the Arcana

Finit!

Sorry about that, folks. Gennifer had a family emergency that delayed this page from Thursday until today. Fortunately, the emergency had a happy ending.

So, here it is. The end of Chapter Three: Two by Two. This is the 293rd page. I could have stretched out the story for an even 300 pages but I didn't feel like being lynched.

Starting Thursday, we'll be taking a two week break from the comic. Don't despair, however! We will be doing a question and answer comic during that time period to give everyone more information about Mysteries of the Arcana.

To that end, we need questions! One very benevolent reader has given us several but I'd like some source variety. So, please, if you have a question about the arcana the characters, or some aspect of the story so far, please email it to mysteriesofthearcana (at) gmail (dot) com. Thank you!

In the meanwhile, today's comic is the PERFECT time for you to comment on the story section! My goal is to get at least twenty comments on this page that aren't posted by myself of Gennifer. Hop to it! :)

You mention that all of the various universes, or "Arcana," as they are called by the characters, are given names of the Tarot cards. My question is, how many of these different Arcana have we seen so far, and what cards are they named after?

I suppose the follow-up question to this would be do you know how many you're going to show us in the future, or do you not plan it out?

Lythar (Guest) (2012-02-27)

Whoops, just saw I should email the question instead.

... three

crunch

I'm waiting to see how many licks it takes for them to get to the center of each other.

"Fixing the Beast" is a new euphemism for me. ;-)As for the story, I'm now looking forward to see how they'll dodge and/or take care of whoever is making dreamers disappear.

D'aaaaw ^_^

I can't believe I never noticed there were comments before! Reading comments is usually one of my favorite parts of reading a webcomic. It's great to see the two of them getting along again, look forward to seeing where you go from here with the story Smile.

First time comment, long time reader. I was actually waiting for this chapter to wrap up before I posted anything. No idea why tho.

Anyway...I got to say this is one of my favorite web comics. The art has always been great, the writing has never bugged me, or seemed dull, and oh god, I'm rambling. -.-*

I'll wrap up and say that although I have a few questions that I may email out (mostly cause I'm really too into figuring out the lore of these sort of stories), I am truly glad this comic has continued. And if I ever get my finances in order, and if you decide to publish this down the road, I'm buying. Oh crap, I rambled on again...

Everyone, thank you! You are always welcome to comment. Doku, don't keep quiet! I'm glad we're one of your favs. Hopefully we'll get to a print edition sometime this year.

and Peaches? Why would they stop at the center?

Lol lego-tetris wall ftw.

Questions!

Welcome to the intermission! We'll running a Q&A, answering questions that readers have sent my way. The art was provided by the talented Tiffany Munro, creator of the brilliant and digitally painted webcomic, Between Places.

There will be ten pages of the Q&A. One on March 1st and 2nd (Thursday and Friday), five the next week (March 5th-9th), and then finally, three more the week after (March 12th-14th). The comic will resume with Chapter 4 the next day, Thursday, March 15th. The next chapter will be an origin story, explaining what the arcana are and where they came from, how the Royal Road was created, and what makes a Key a Key.

I'm only going to be doing one blog entry for the entire ten page series. So, all comments for the Question series should be attached to this one. If you have follow-up questions based on the answers given in the comic, I'll do my best to answer them in the comments section.

Seth (Guest) (2012-03-06)

I notice that the Ace of Cups is listed on both the current page and the previous, with two different descriptions.  Is that a mistake?

Jasae Buhase (Guest) (2012-03-06)

Wow i totally didnt notice that~! XD
yay~ all that water from chapter 2 is goo people~ 8D

J Gray (2012-03-06)

My bad, yes. Blue is from the Page of Cups. I'll try to get that corrected.

Gillsing (Guest) (2012-03-06)

There also seems to be a tiny, unimportant typo in the second paragraph of the second page of Arcana descriptions: "awsome" instead of "awesome" (just in case it'll ever matter to anyone)

J Gray (2012-03-06)

Thanks for pointing out the errors, folks! We've corrected them.

Jasae Bushae (Guest) (2012-03-09)
